Your Spending Inbox: Where a Purchase Goes Before You Sort It

Every time a transaction hits your connected bank account, debit card or credit card, Jelli pulls it in automatically and drops it into your Unassigned Transactions list. Think of it as an inbox for your spending. Each purchase waits there until you tell Jelli which JelliJAR it belongs to.

Tap any unassigned transaction and pick the right Jar. That Jar’s balance is instantly debited by the amount, and the new balance shows right there, so you always know where you stand.

Jelli also remembers your choice. The next time you shop at the same merchant, it suggests the same Jar, so repeat purchases get faster to assign over time.

“Sorting takes a few seconds. Knowing exactly what’s left in every Jar is the part that changes how you spend.”

Here’s the important part: your Total Available is reduced the moment a transaction shows up, whether or not you’ve assigned it to a Jar yet. That’s because Total Available combines all your Jar balances with your unassigned transactions, so the money is already accounted for the instant it’s spent.

When you assign a purchase, it simply moves from the inbox into a specific Jar. The Jar’s balance drops, but your Total Available doesn’t change, because the purchase was already reflected the moment it posted. Nothing you’ve already spent slips through the cracks, and nothing gets counted twice.

Not every purchase fits one category. Say a Target run is part groceries and part household. Instead of forcing it into one Jar, you can split that single purchase across multiple Jars.

Assigning transactions only takes about a minute a day, and it’s what keeps each individual Jar balance accurate. JJ lets you know in the app when a purchase comes in and prompts you to assign it. You also earn JelliBEANS for assigning transactions, so the daily habit pays you back.
