These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Jelli Finance Co. (“Jelli”, “we”, “us”). They cover everything Jelli runs: the Jelli app for iPhone, iPad and Android, Jelli on the web at jelli.app, our website jelli.us, and Jelli for AI assistants at mcp.jelli.us (together, the “Services”). They are also the end-user license agreement for the Jelli app. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Integritetspolicy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Services.
1. What Jelli is, and what it isn’t
- • Jelli is a budgeting tool. It helps you plan and track your money in virtual jars.
- • Jelli is not a bank, money transmitter, lender or broker. We never hold or move your money. Jars, transfers and assignments in Jelli are entries in your budget; your real money stays in your bank accounts.
- • Jelli doesn’t give financial, investment, tax, credit or legal advice. Budgets, suggestions, balances and answers from JJ are for your information only. Decisions about your money are yours.
- • Balances and transactions come from your bank through our partners, and may be late, incomplete or wrong. Check important figures with your bank.
2. Who can use Jelli
- • You must be at least 13 years old to use Jelli, or 16 in the EEA and UK.
- • If you’re under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these Terms for you.
- • You may only connect accounts you’re allowed to access, and only use the Services where the law allows it.
3. Your account
- • You sign in with a link sent to your email, with Sign in with Apple or Google, or with a passkey. Keep the email account, Apple Account, Google account and devices you sign in with secure: anyone who can use them can sign in to your Jelli.
- • Give us accurate information, and tell us at help@jelli.us if you think someone else got into your account.
- • Your account is for you. Share my Jelli lets you invite others to help run your budget. You’re responsible for the people you invite and what they change, and you can end a share at any time.
- • You can delete your account at any time: Profile › Delete account in the app, or at jelli.app/delete.
4. Connecting your bank and cards
- • We connect to your bank and card accounts through Plaid. By connecting an account, you authorize Jelli and Plaid to access and import your account information, and you agree to Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy. We never see your bank username or password.
- • Apple Card, Apple Cash and Savings are imported through Apple’s FinanceKit, only after you allow it on your iPhone. This is available on iPhone only.
- • Access is read-only. Jelli can’t move money out of your accounts.
- • Banks and our partners can change or stop a connection at any time. You can disconnect an account whenever you like.
5. AI features
- • Jelli uses AI to build your starter budget, suggest jars for your transactions, read receipts you scan, answer you as JJ, and power the chat on our website. Our Integritetspolicy lists the AI providers and what each one receives.
- • AI can make mistakes. Review what JJ suggests before you rely on it. JJ asks you before it changes your budget, and you’re responsible for changes you confirm.
- • Don’t use AI features to break the law, to get around these Terms, or to try to get information about other people.
- • Connect your AI. If you connect your own AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, it can read your budget and propose changes for you to confirm. That assistant is provided by another company under its own terms, and you’re responsible for how you use it. You can disconnect it at any time.
6. Subscriptions, free periods and payments
Some features need a paid subscription. Plans and prices are shown before you buy, and plans differ in how many accounts they track. Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price shown until you cancel. Where you buy decides who bills you and where you manage it:
- • On iPhone or iPad: billed by Apple to your Apple Account. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s rules; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- • On Android: billed by Google Play to your Google account. Cancel before the renewal date in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policies.
- • On jelli.app: billed through Stripe, which processes the payment. Change your plan, update your card or cancel at any time in Profile › Subscription on jelli.app. For a refund, email help@jelli.us.
- • Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your Jelli account doesn’t cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google Play: cancel it there too.
- • Free periods and free trials are described before you subscribe. An introductory free trial is offered once per person, starts when you subscribe and converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Switching plans doesn’t start another.
- • We may change prices. You’ll be told before a price change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.
- • If your subscription or free period ends, Jelli stops syncing your banks and may disconnect them. Your budget stays in your account, and you can reconnect when you subscribe again.
- • Promo codes can only be used once per person, have no cash value, can’t be sold or transferred, and may expire. We may end a promo at any time.
7. JelliBEANS and rewards
JelliBEANS, achievements and Jar Themes are rewards for using Jelli. They have no cash value, can’t be bought, sold, exchanged or transferred, and aren’t property. We may change or end the rewards program at any time.
8. Acceptable use
When you use the Services, don’t:
- • break the law, or use Jelli for fraud or to hide where money comes from;
- • access accounts or data that aren’t yours, or invite people to a Jelli that isn’t yours to share;
- • copy, scrape or harvest the Services or their data with automated tools, except through the AI connection we provide;
- • reverse engineer, decompile or try to get around our security or usage limits;
- • overload, disrupt or attack the Services, or upload malware;
- • send abusive, harassing or unlawful content to our support team, to JJ or to people you invite.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
9. Your content and feedback
- • Your budget, your transactions and what you type into Jelli are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to provide the Services, as described in our Integritetspolicy.
- • If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything.
10. Our property and your license
The Services, including the Jelli name and logo, jars, JJ, JelliBEANS, our designs and software, belong to Jelli or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Services under these Terms. We keep all other rights.
11. Apps from the App Store and Google Play
If you got the Jelli app from Apple’s App Store, these Terms are your license agreement for it, and you and Jelli agree that:
- • Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and Jelli only, not Apple. Jelli, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. These Terms don’t set usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; if they ever do, Apple’s terms apply to that extent.
- • Scope of license. Your license to the app is limited to using it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that it may also be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- • Maintenance and support. Jelli is solely responsible for any maintenance and support for the app, as described in these Terms or required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- • Warranty. Jelli is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, that aren’t effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to meet a warranty are Jelli’s responsibility.
- • Product claims. Jelli, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or anyone else about the app or your possession or use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. These Terms don’t limit Jelli’s liability to you beyond what the law allows.
- • Intellectual property. If anyone claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, Jelli, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- • Legal compliance. You confirm that you’re not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you’re not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- • Developer name and address. Send questions, complaints or claims about the app to Jelli Finance Co., 4562 W Temple Shadows Dr, Cedar Hills, UT 84062-8669, United States, or email help@jelli.us.
- • Third-party terms. When you use the app, you must also comply with any third-party agreements that apply, such as your wireless data service agreement.
- • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
If you got the app from Google Play, Google Play’s Terms of Service also apply to your download and purchases, and Google isn’t responsible for the app.
12. Other companies’ services
The Services work with services from other companies, such as Plaid, Apple, Google, Stripe, AI providers and social media sites. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we aren’t responsible for them.
13. Changes and ending the Services
- • We keep improving Jelli, so features may change, and we may stop offering some of them.
- • We may update these Terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using the Services after that, the new Terms apply.
- • You can stop using Jelli and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we must by law. Sections 7 to 11 and 14 to 17 still apply after your account ends.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate, or that they will meet your needs, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some places don’t allow these disclaimers, so they may not apply to you.
15. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Jelli isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or financial decisions you make using the Services. Our total liability for any claim about the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Jelli in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about the Services will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you and Jelli agree to their jurisdiction. If you live in the EEA, the UK or another place whose consumer laws give you the right to bring claims in your local courts, you keep that right. Before going to court, please email us at help@jelli.us so we can try to sort it out.
17. General
- • These Terms and our Integritetspolicy are the whole agreement between you and Jelli about the Services.
- • If part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- • If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up.
- • You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- • If a translated version differs from this English version, the English version applies.
